The 18th Season of the BHP Billiton Enchanted Forest will go in the books as one of the best from an attendance and revenue perspective even though weather conditions were less than favourable for the popular Holiday Light Tour at Saskatoon’s Forestry Farm Park. 70,000 visitors, down slightly from last year’s record of 72,000, entered the gates during the seven week event. Unusually warm weather including rain early in November, the lack of snow until Christmas day, and frigid cold temperatures through much of the show, could not keep visitors in search of the Christmas spirit away. Although not yet finalized, the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation and the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation are expected to once again share in over $200,000 in net proceeds.
New this year was the addition of the Nutcracker Ballet light display. As has become tradition, a new major display will be added for the 19th Season of the BHP Billiton Enchanted Forest which is scheduled for November 18th through January 7th.
